Studi Kualitatif: Kedukaan Akibat Kematian Mendadak Keluarga Inti dan Implikasinya terhadap Kesehatan Mental Remaja

Grief resulting from the sudden death of a nuclear family member is a traumatic experience that can impact adolescent mental health. Adolescence is a developmental period vulnerable to emotional and psychological disturbances. Sudden loss has the potential to have long-term impacts on an individual's mental well-being and adaptation process. This study aims to explore the experience of grief resulting from the sudden death of a nuclear family member and its implications for adolescent mental health. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 6 participants selected using purposive sampling until data saturation was achieved. Source triangulation was conducted through family members to increase data credibility. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six participants, three primary caregivers and three caregivers, selected using purposive sampling until data saturation was achieved. Source triangulation was conducted through family members to increase data credibility. Data analysis was conducted thematically through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study resulted in six main themes, namely: 1. Closeness of the relationship with the deceased before death, 2. Initial emotional reactions to sudden death, 3. Impact of education on adolescent mental health, 4. Behavioral changes and adaptation in adolescents, and 5. 6. Coping strategies in facing positions.Social support in the educational process. Grief due to the sudden death of a family member has a significant impact on adolescent mental health, both emotionally, psychologically, and socially. Family support and adaptive coping strategies play an important role in helping adolescents' recovery and adjustment process.
