Pengaruh Ekstrak Kulit Buah Mangga Arumanis (Mangifera Indica L.) sebagai Antihiperlipidemia Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol Total Secara In-Vivo

Hyperlipidemia is a condition in which there is an increase in total cholesterol, triglycerides, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) levels and a decrease in High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of extracts from arumanis mango peel in reducing total cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemic rats induced by a high-fat diet (MLT) and Propylthiouracil (PTU). This research used 24 white male rats. They were divided into 6 groups: a negative control group (0.5% Na CMC), a positive control group, a comparison group (simvastatin), and test groups with doses of 75, 150, and 300 mg/kgBW. The inducers used are high-fat food (MLT) and PTU, which are given for 7 days and the extract is given for 14 days. Research results show that extracts from the dose group peel of arumanis mango fruit can reduce total cholesterol successively by 21.50%, 22,10%, and 23.25%. The extract of the arumanis mango fruit peel has antihyperlipidemic activity with significant values (p<0.05) and the most effective dosage for reducing lipids is 300 mg/kgBW. In the histopathological examination, an ANOVA result was obtained where, Aortic Area, Lumen Area, and Lumen Ratio had significant values (p<0.05).
