The high prevalence of hypertension remains a public health problem in Indonesia. One factor influencing hypertension is family history. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of hypertension incidence at Permata Saribudolok Clinic. A cross-sectional design was used in this study, which was conducted in February 2025. The study population consisted of all hypertensive patients. The sample comprised 85 individuals selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to the subjects. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test and logistic regression. The results of the study reported that the age of respondents (p = 0.012; OR: 3.62; 95 CI: 1.352, 9.711), family history (p = 0.013; OR: 3.35; 95 CI: 1.330, 8.436), smoking (p = 0.022; OR: 3.01; 95 CI: 1.206, 7.530) and diet (p = 0.007; OR: 3.84; 95 CI: 1.487, 9.923) were significantly related to the incidence of hypertension. The conclusion is that the family history variable (p = 0.002; OR = 6.62; 95 CI: 2.009, 21.870) is a risk factor for hypertension.
