Abstract

Anemia is a common health issue among adolescent girls, often caused by an unbalanced diet and poor nutritional status. This study aims to examine the relationship between diet and nutritional status with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls at SMP Swasta Darul Mudaris, Meurah Mulia District, North Aceh Regency. This is an analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consists of 60 adolescent girls selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire on eating habits, body mass index (BMI) measurements, and hemoglobin (Hb) level tests. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of anemia (p < 0.05), as well as between nutritional status and the incidence of anemia (p < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that diet and nutritional status are significantly related to the occurrence of anemia in adolescent girls. This study highlights the importance of improving diet and nutritional status as preventive measures against anemia in adolescent girls.
