Background: Postoperative pain is a common problem during the recovery period that may limit early mobilization, delay healing, and decrease patient comfort. Besides pharmacological management, ergonomic sleeping position adjustment is a non-pharmacological intervention that may reduce pain by minimizing pressure on the surgical wound, improving circulation, and promoting relaxation. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of ergonomic sleeping position adjustment on the pain scale of postoperative patients at Hospital X. Methods: This case study involved two hospitalized postoperative patients. Ergonomic sleeping positions were adjusted according to each patient's condition and surgical wound location for two consecutive days. Pain intensity was assessed before and after the intervention using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), with scores ranging from 0 to 10. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing pain scores before and after the intervention. Results: Both participants experienced reduced pain after the intervention. The first participant's pain score decreased from 3 to 2 on the first day and to 1 on the second day. The second participant's pain score decreased from 4 to 3 on the first day and to 1 on the second day. Both participants also reported a comfort score of 72 (100%), indicating a very comfortable condition. Conclusion: Ergonomic sleeping position adjustment reduced postoperative pain and improved patient comfort. This simple, safe, and practical nursing intervention can support postoperative recovery.
