Hubungan Peran Orang Tua dengan Pengetahuan Remaja Tentang Kesehatan Reproduksi

Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, ranging from 10 to 19 years of age, and is characterized by physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes that influence reproductive health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive sistem. Insufficient knowledge of reproductive health remains a significant issue among adolescents in several regions, including Banyuwangi Regency. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental roles and adolescents' knowledge of reproductive health at MTs Miftahul Mubtadi’in. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 250 seventh- and eighth-grade students, with a sample of 71 respondents selected using proportional and simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively and using the Chi-square test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the majority of adolescents had poor knowledge of reproductive health (63.4%), while most parents played a passive role (79%). The Chi-square test indicated a significant relationship between parental roles and adolescents' level of reproductive health knowledge. It can be concluded that parental roles are significantly associated with adolescents' knowledge of reproductive health. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve parents' understanding and communication skills regarding reproductive health, as well as to develop school- and family-based reproductive health education programs.
