Abstract

This study maps methodological patterns, outcome domains, and the strength of evidence on the effectiveness of occupational health and safety (OHS) interventions in Indonesian healthcare institutions. The review used a scoping review approach based on PRISMA-ScR and the Population-Concept-Context framework. Articles published between 2000 and 2026 were searched through SINTA/GARUDA, journal portals, and Google Scholar. Twelve studies met the inclusion criteria, and all were conducted in hospital settings. Cross-sectional and qualitative designs were the most common approaches, while the dominant intervention or evaluation forms were personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance audits, supervision, risk assessment, and hospital OHS program reviews. The most frequently reported outcomes were PPE compliance, hazard identification and risk assessment, and implementation of hospital OHS components. Most studies were still positioned at evidence level 0-1, indicating limited capacity to demonstrate causal effectiveness. Overall, the literature remains stronger in describing problems and procedural compliance than in measuring intervention impact. Future studies should employ stronger evaluative designs, include harder outcomes, and extend the evidence base to clinics, primary care facilities, pharmacies, laboratories, and other supporting healthcare units.
